I needed driving license. I heard if I go solo I would be refused. I had decent driving experience back then. I didn't take the chance.
When I applied for my driving licence in the Jhenaidah BRTA devisiion, I completed all tests perfectly. But they failed me for nor reason. When I went to ask about it they refused to give any straight answer. I asked around when I found that every applicant must provide 3000 BDT for non professional license and 10000 BDT for processional license as bribe only. Then they will be allowed to pass. These is no other way. With bribe you do not need to give any test just complete the biometrics and you are done. I too was forced to give bribe for my driving licence.

A lady not be named, from SAVAR BRTA. She refused to register my bike for 3 months untill I gave her the bribe. She was previously highlighted for bribery in various News Media but she shows no remorse.
Including all expenses, the package was 12000 taka; the dalal did all the paperwork, application, and stuff.
I learned driving at the Driving Institute of Bangladesh in Banasree. They charged me **৳1,000 for the driving lessons** and **৳13,000 for the driving licence process**. I’m not completely sure, but I think around **৳3,500** of that was for the official driving licence fee at Tejgaon. They also told me that if I paid an **additional ৳1,000**, I wouldn’t need to take the driving test. I would just pay the money, and they would arrange the licence for me.
When I go to the BRTA to get my driving license, I usually say that I don't know how to drive properly, though I can ride a bike and handle a car a little bit. Then, they ask me for an extra 6,000 taka, and promise to get the license ready within 12 hours. And just like that, it gets done.
Tried to mask it as a "Processing Fee", initially asked for a higher amount, forgot exactly how much, ultimately agreed at 2K BDT. Had to pay it cause I needed it as I was going abroad. He was also very rude until it came to the payment stage. The switch in his behavior was instant, and for an instant I thought he might have split personality disorder.
I just paid a broker, and he helped me get the licence. I only took the written exam and didn’t even take the driving test, yet I still got the licence.

Normally, even after paying the standard fee required to obtain a driving licence, they told me directly that they would not allow me to pass the driving test. They explicitly stated that if I paid BDT 12,500, they would arrange the driving licence without requiring me to take any kind of test. They also said that if I refused to pay the money, they would not allow me to obtain a driving licence under any circumstances. This was stated directly by the officials at the BRTA Shariatpur office.
Official cost is 5650 BDT, they demanded 11,300 BDT total, promised the test will be pased without challenge, and i cant pass if i go through regular challenge.
I had to bribe the officials an extra 2,000 for my driving license. It’s kind of an unwritten rule here if you don’t pay, you won’t pass the test.
