কিছুতেই জন্ম নিবন্ধন ঠিক করতে পারছিলাম না। ২০২১ এ। ১ বছর ৯ মাস এ অফিস, ঐ অফিস দৌড়াদৌড়ি করে কিছু না হওয়ায় দালালের মাধ্যমে সিটি করোপরেশনের লোক দিয়ে ২০২৩ সালে নতুন জন্ম নিবন্ধন বানাই যাতে কারেকশন ছিলো আমার ডাকনাম ও বয়স যেটা আগে কমানো হয়েছিলো সেটা অরিজিনাল বয়সে নেয়া।
চট্টগ্রাম ২৫নং ওয়ার্ড অফিসে জন্মনিবন্ধন রেজিস্ট্রেশনের জন্য আবেদন করেছিলাম দু'সুপ্তাহ আগে। আবেদন কপি জমা দিতে গেলে ২৫নং ওয়ার্ড একজন অফিস সহকারী আমার কাছে চা পানির খরচা চান। আমি বেশ জোরেই জিজ্ঞাসা করি কিসের টাকা। তিনি বেশ কনফিডেন্টলি আমাকে রিপ্লাই দিলেন আমরা চা পানি খাবো। খরচাটা দিয়েন। সে সময় অফিসে অনেক লোকজন উপস্থিত ছিলেন। পরবর্তীতে আমি বললাম ক্যাস নাই। উনি আমার কাছ থেকে রিসিভিং কপি চেয়ে নিয়ে উনার বিকাশ নং লিখে দিলেন এবং বিকাশে দিয়ে দিতে বললেন। আমি বিকাশে টাকা দেয় নাই। উনি ৩দিন পর ফোনে আমাকে বলেন, টাকা না দিলে এপ্লিকেশন আটকাই দিবেন। পরবর্তীতে আমাকে বাধ্যহয়ে টাকা পরিশোধ করতে হয়েছে।
আগে ঢাকা আজিমপুর সিটি কর্পোরেশন অফিসে সকল টাকা ডাচ- বাংলা ব্যাংকের মাধ্যমে পরিশোধ করা হতো কিন্তু এখন তারা নিজেরাই এখন টাকা সরাসরি গ্রহণ করে. কয়েকদিন আগে আমি হোল্ডিং ট্যাক্স দিতে আজিমপুর সিটি কর্পোরেশন অফিসে যাই - তখন তারা আমার কাছ থেকে হোল্ডিং ট্যাক্স বাবদ ৩০০ টাকা অতিরিক্ত নিয়েছে, আমায় বল্লাম যে এইটা কিসের টাকা, তারা বললো যে চা-নাস্তা জন্য দেন, পরে পরে আমি টাকা দিয়ে চলে এসেছি।
ট্রেড লাইসেন্স করার সময় দোকানের ডিড ঠিক নাই সহ আরো অনেক কাগজ ভুল আছে বলে জমা নিচ্ছিল না। পরে দুইটা ট্রেড লাইসেন্স এর জন্য ৫০০০ হাজার করে ১০০০০ টাকা ঘুষ দেওয়া লেগেছিল।

Then with the pretense that they were gonna explain why it's needed, the assistant took me to the copier room (no cameras there) and asked for the six thousand as "কাজের বখশিশ", I firstly refused and left, but a family member insisted the paper to be obtained, and told me to pay the bribe with his money so that it could be done quickly. I went there a few hours (of quarreling with said family member) later, and paid the bribe to get it done.
