Immigration - BD visa extension
We travelled to Bangladesh to visit our family, especially to see my mother, who was experiencing a medical emergency. Although we had previously received three‑month visas from the Bangladesh Embassy in Canada, this time the Embassy refused to issue us the same visa. For context, we had paid CAD 500 for visas for all four family members in the past. After the refusal, we obtained visas on arrival at Dhaka Airport. When we later went to the Bangladesh Immigration Department in Agargaon, the process became unnecessarily complicated. Officials asked us to pay Tk 5,000 per person. After repeated requests, they agreed to waive the fee for our two children, and we ultimately paid Tk 12,000.
