সম্পূর্ণ সঠিক ভাবে এপ্লাই করার পরে যখন থানায় কাগজ পত্র নিয়ে ডাকা হয় তখন বিভিন্ন ধরনের অযৌক্তিক ভুল ( অ্যাড্রেস এ বানান একটু আলাদা , অন্যান্য ) দাবি করা হয়েছিল! আবার এপ্লাই করতে বলা হয় । পরে সমাধান হিসেবে টাকার দাবি করা হয় এবং উপায় না পেয়ে সেই টাকা দিয়েই সমস্যাটি সমাধান করা হয়েছে! এবং কয়েকদিনের মধ্যেই সেই সার্টিফিকেট হাতে আসে!
পুলিশ ক্লিয়ারেন্স এর জন্য আবেদন করি কম্পিউটার এর দোকান থেকে তখন তারা অফার দেয় কন্টাকে দিয়ে দেন অতিরিক্ত ১৫০০ টাকা লাগবে ৭দিন এ ডেলিভারি দেওয়ার পর টাকা দিবেন আর নাহয় ১ -১.৫ মাস লাগবে, আমি রাজি না হয়ে সরাসরি থানায় গেলে আবার খরচ দাবী করে তখন বাধ্য হয়ে ১০০০ টাকা দিয়ে আসা লাগে এবং সরাসরি যাওয়া তে গুরুত্বহীন হয়ে যায় কাজটা।
That time I was a first-year university student and very new to TIN and tax returns; I didn't file the return because I had no income! After failing for 2 consecutive years, an official reached out to me and demanded 50-100k to save my ass; otherwise, they would put me in huge trouble!
The demand was made through an intermediary (who we had to pay off as well) when we went to pay municipal taxes for our flats. But we discovered it had to be registered with NBR. Total actual fee was ~30k, and we ended up paying 150k to “regularize” our papers. On the flip side was harassment which we wanted to avoid.

I needed a certified copy from Rajjuk an allotment order and occupancy letter. The concern person in the department demanded 1lac tk for this documents.
Mr. X from name correction (or an office beside name correction section) agreed to correct my certs for 2nd time. I went to the actual authority(Name correction section where the interviews happen) first to do it without any bribe but they were very reluctant to help me. Mr x happened to be there and took me to his office and said he would help me. Took a bribe of 1000 taka. Given the urgency of the situation I agreed to pay the bribe. He promised to do perform the correction in 3 days but it took nearly a month causing me a lot of anxiety and stress. I thought my money was gone. But after almost one month Mr. X finally delivered his promise.
This is an annual renewal process which costs more and more every year. If the license is not renewed within the expiry date, then all imports of the company is stopped. That’s why customs officials are aware that customers will pay the bribe to keep the business running.
I required Tax Certificates for the past 4 years. Contemporary automated tax certificates do not label the name of the companies that one has worked for, on a government letterhead. But I required that and after asking around, I was directed to visit Paltan Kor Circle-12. I laid out my query to the lead female officer (around her 50s), she said that it required them to print each of them and sign them. However, they would be charging 2k per signature and stamp for each tax paper. I told them to provide me with a receipt. They refused and said, "Apne egula kaaj koran nai tai apne jaanen na". I left without creating a ruckus, leaving it to Allah for the capital punishment.
I went to the Union office of my village for birth certificate and character certificate. After registration and giving character certificate, they claimed money (150 tk) as printing cost though everything is borne by govt. They actually take the money and keep in their own pockets. Nothing is paid to the government. This amount may be little for individual but thus they are illegally claiming money from many people for this minor service even though everything is free according to government rules explained in Jatiya Batayan Seba

He first asked for Tk 35000, which I then negotiated to Tk 25000.
Would like to apply for BIN. And the official ask to pay him 5000/- to create a BIN certificate within two days! Without payment it will be pending!

I paid more than 100% of the actual service cost. They demand for instant service which I needed. The incumbents were indifferent. If it wasn't paid I didn't know when I would get my service.
