Treasury Office + Election Office for Pension Work

My father passed away, so my mother receives his pension. When EFT was introduced, her pension was suspended due to an NID name mismatch. After three years of hassle at Gaibandha and Rangpur Election Offices, we corrected it. However, Sadullapur Treasury Office officials demanded a 15,000 BDT bribe to process her file. I contacted the Central Pension Office in Segunbagicha, Dhaka, where helpful officials resolved our issue for free. However, corrupt officials in Sadullapur continue to harass common citizens. Additionally, the local Sadullapur Election Office also takes illegal fees, forcing me to pay 500 BDT just to submit NID papers. This systemic corruption needs an immediate solution.

Police Clearance

The police clearance supposed to be approve within 7 days after applied but the office of senbagh Police station not approve this.and after 7 days i contact to them and he asked 4000 Taka.after negotiations i paid 3500 tk.then next day i got it. It was happen September 2023.

NID making process

I was trying to collect my nagorik shanad to make my NID. They kept on making me to from this office to that for a sign. Then another office for a sign. After taking all signs I took it to the office where they give nagarik shanad and told me this form is old and to make a new one. Then my father went there and the indirectly asked for money. Also my bari wala is not providing me with the chukti potro which is needed to complete my NID process. I have been roaming around to make my NID for a year now and have been unsuccessful.

I was forced to pay 1,800 BDT after continuously running around our 7 No. Union office (Jaldi, Banskhali) for three days just to get a single birth certificate a few years ago, which normally costs only 10–20 BDT. I had to miss work for three days, along with hours of travel and waiting, just to get it done.

At the Upazila Accounts Office, a cash bribe of 5% to 20% must be paid in advance for processing each bill, including salary bills, travel allowances, and transfer-related LPC (Last Pay Certificate) bills. If the bribe is not paid, the bills are deliberately withheld and are not released. This practice continues despite all services being available online. The concerned officials intentionally delay and obstruct the processing of bills. Senior officials and the relevant authorities are aware of these irregularities, yet no effective action has been taken to stop them.

Caught with heroine

It happened in Mohammadpur geneva camp. one of my friend got caught with 4 pieces of heroine by police. At first they slapped my friend, and started to haunt of getting jailed for a year, it went on around for a couple of hours, then my friend called his parents. They are called in a area where no people were around. the S.I asked 100000bdt to free us, as his parents were not that eligible to give the money the police demanded, his mom came with 20000bdt and his father had only 300bdt for transport, they took all of it and let us go. The fact that in geneva camp they sell drugs openly but the ones who sell aren't captured. Every month 2-4crore bdt is sent to mdpur DC from camp druglords.

The meter reader's assistant came and told me my water meter is faulty and he wants 40000, he will puss some air in the meters reading system which may 'correct' the meter. In reality, it was a damn good meter. so he gave me a weeks ultimatum after i negotitated for some time.Then he came again and harrased me tons and tried to agitate me saying he will see how i can walk on road without paying him and shit like that.i did not replace the meter or paid him he kept putting the same unit reading for each month without actually taking the reading from the meter. Its 7100 taka each month. never any less or more than that. He didn't provide me the physical copy of the water bill at my holding.

NID card retrieval using finger print

NID card was lost, couldn’t trace back the NId card. Went to Divional Election Commissioner's office. Clerk took finger print and then retrieved NID card. He gave a A4 size papered photocopy and charged BDT 1000 for this 1 minute service, which supposed to be free of cost service. Bound to pay the amount, so paid it.

DPDC Services

Theft of main electric lines is a recurring problem, along with flickering lights from hardware faults such as clamps that need replacing. When DPDC staff come out for simple issues at the grid or meter end, it is their responsibility and they do the work, but we still have to pay them on top. These are salaried men doing their jobs. A simple fix with a plier on the main grid wire cost 3,000 BDT. Charges vary depending on who turns up, up to 10,000. They only take cash, not bKash.

Medical clearance for joining a government job.

For joining as a primary school teacher, I completed all my medical tests at SHAHID — MEDICAL COLLEGE, Sirajganj. A medical clearance from the Civil Surgeon’s Office, Sirajganj was required. I submitted all my medical reports there, but two male staff members of the Civil Surgeon’s Office refused to issue the clearance unless I paid 200 taka. I was therefore forced to pay the bribe to obtain the clearance.
