I paid the govt fees online while submitting my application and got a date for my fingerprint and other stuff. On that date, I forgot to take a copy of the utility bill as proof of my present address. They told me to come with it, otherwise the process wouldn't proceed. I respected their rules and came out, then sat at a tea stall nearby. The shopkeeper asked about the situation. When I told him, he asked for 3000 taka. I refused, so he offered to do everything without documents for 2000. I refused again, took a rickshaw home, got the electricity bill, and returned. Paid the rickshaw puller 40 taka, completed everything, and saved 3000 taka for a 40 taka ride and a few more hours of queuing.

Went to Uttara Passport office to make Passport for my Mother & Father. They waited in queue, had their documents checked. But before photo & Iris scan, the woman inside asked my mom for my Grandfather's NID (who died before NID even existed) I went to the room explained everything, but she was refusing to process files any furthermore asked me to go to the shop beside passport office and apply from there ! I went to the Assistant Director's office, showed my ID card and asked him if he wants to escalate the issue any further, he himself went to photo room and solved the issues
There was a mistake in my application where I wrote my old handwritten passport's number in my application form when it asked if I had any previous passport. One officer checked my application and fully rejected it saying I'd have to apply for a whole new application by paying another 5k on the website. I went outside and one broker asked me what happened, I told him everything and he said he can fix it for 2500 tk. I tried bargaining but they wouldn't budge and no other way was left, so I paid him. He told me to tell the biometrics officer to omit my previous passport number from my new passport and I did exactly that. My passport application was later accepted.
My renewal application was refused more than once for minor errors (Infact the issue might not be considered an error at all). A small photo copy and printing shop outside the passport office offered they may help for a certain amount. Apparently they have connection inside the office. I paid and my application was immediately accepted afterwards.
As I am a resident of Mymensingh district, passport officer refused to process my passport preparation at Tangail passport office. He told me to go to Mymensingh office whereas I had already paid the passport fee online by selecting Tangail regional passport office. However, a broaker standing outside the office asked for bribe to process the work in this office at that day without hassle. I had not enough time to run here and there to complete my work. So, I had to pay 1800 tk after a lot of bargaining. Then, it went smooth. That's how passport office works.

নতুন পাসপোর্ট পাওয়ার জন্য নিজে নিজে সব আবেদন করে ফর্মের সব ঘর যথাযথভাবে পূরণ করার পরও সামান্য বাড়ীর নাম না লেখা নিয়ে রিজেক্ট করে দেয়। পরে বাইরে এক দালাল ২ হাজার টাকা নিয়ে একই আবেদনের (পাসপোর্ট অফিসের মতে ভুল, অগ্রহণযোগ্য আবেদন) পাসপোর্ট আবেদন এপ্রুভ করিয়ে পাসপোর্ট রেডি করে দেয়।

They keep refusing me to take documents for no reasons and there was a computer er dukan in front of the office they said if I give them 2500 they will refer me to them and everything will be fine then I give them money later they just write a code in the back of my form ( I think its was a signal) and I went back to counter and show them my doc and told them his name and surprisingly everything went well then . It was a horrible experience as a student , I prayed to god that I will nevee came to this place again.
You are pushed towards payment through non-performance of actual service, repeatedly claiming missing files or incorrect info despite getting everything 100%. Bribes are collected by Bangladesh Ansar personnel observing the line.
All my documents are legit and according to the requirement. But still the passport officers collectively created a system where they don't process files without the marking of the "dalal" ( Ansari, Shop keepers, and others). I reported to the police present at the Dhaka west passport office. The police was unable to help me as he said it is regulated by a powerful syndicate.
