NID card was lost, couldn’t trace back the NId card. Went to Divional Election Commissioner's office. Clerk took finger print and then retrieved NID card. He gave a A4 size papered photocopy and charged BDT 1000 for this 1 minute service, which supposed to be free of cost service. Bound to pay the amount, so paid it.
I learned driving at the Driving Institute of Bangladesh in Banasree. They charged me **৳1,000 for the driving lessons** and **৳13,000 for the driving licence process**. I’m not completely sure, but I think around **৳3,500** of that was for the official driving licence fee at Tejgaon. They also told me that if I paid an **additional ৳1,000**, I wouldn’t need to take the driving test. I would just pay the money, and they would arrange the licence for me.

I submitted all my medical reports there, but two male staff members of the Civil Surgeon’s Office refused to issue the clearance unless I paid 200 taka. I was therefore forced to pay the bribe to obtain the clearance.

আমার শ্বশুরের একটি ফ্ল্যাট মিউটেশন/নামজারি করার জন্য একজন সাব-রেজিষ্ট্রি কর্মকর্তা বছরের পর বছর ঘোরান। সেই কর্মকর্তা পরিচিত ছিল তাই তাকে বলা হয়েছিল। সরকারি প্রসেসে মাত্র ১,১৭০৳ বলা হলেও, নানান ভোগান্তির ভয় দেখিয়ে আমার শ্বশুরের কাছ থেকে প্রায় ১ লক্ষ টাকা নিয়ে প্রায় ৪-৫ বছর পর নামজারি করে দেয়। সেই ব্যক্তি নিজেকে পরহেজগার লোক দাবি করে, অথচ তলে তলে এই কাজ করে। আমার শ্বশুর তাকে টাকা দিতে বাধ্য হয় কারণ অন্য লোক মারফত বা ডিরেক্ট চ্যানেলে গেলেও ফাইল ওই লোকের সাইন ছাড়া পাস হতো না, পাছে ওই লোক ফাইলে গন্ডগোল করে দেয় তাই টাকা দিয়ে মিউটেশন করা হয়েছে।

Theft of main electric lines is a recurring problem, along with flickering lights from hardware faults such as clamps that need replacing.
