For police clearance I paid 1520 taka online, which is the actual fees. But in the verification stage a police officer (probably a SI) called me to bring some documents to my local thana. I went there with all the documents and everything was okay. But he asked for 1000 taka, actually I knew that they take bribes around 500 to 1000 taka, that's why I bring with me only 600 tk. At first he denied then seeing my wallet he agreed. I take an auto-rickshaw to go back to my home. In midway he called me back. And I go there and he gives me 100 taka back and keeps 500 tk and say "you have to pay 1000 tk you go to home then send me more 500 tk by mfs, after receiving money I'll submit your documents"

paid the NID name correction bribery for my mother-in-law's NID due to urgent passport renewal. The officer initially demanded 12000 BDT, then after realizing urgency he demanded 3000 BDT more and threatened by saying "if you even go official or unofficial procedure in any other way, it will go through me and I will see how it can be approved." eventually forced to pay in total of 15000 BDT and corrected the NID just within 1 hour after that.
