There was previously an option to submit the application online; however, the online portal is currently not functioning. As a result, applications can now only be submitted through the officials. They are reportedly charging BDT 10,000 to BDT 25,000 per application, particularly in cases involving foreign nationals. This is truly a matter of concern and shame for us.

paid the NID name correction bribery for my mother-in-law's NID due to urgent passport renewal. The officer initially demanded 12000 BDT, then after realizing urgency he demanded 3000 BDT more and threatened by saying "if you even go official or unofficial procedure in any other way, it will go through me and I will see how it can be approved." eventually forced to pay in total of 15000 BDT and corrected the NID just within 1 hour after that.
