I would like to raise concerns about the complexity of National ID (NID) registration and unofficial or excessive fees for Citizenship Certificates (Nagorikotta Sonod). Many citizens already possess birth certificates, SSC/HSC records, and university credentials proving their identity and connection to Bangladesh, yet they face additional certificates, repeated verification, delays, and costs. The official online citizenship service, costing approximately 50–70 BDT, is often unavailable or unused, forcing applicants to local offices where they may pay 200 BDT or more. I respectfully request investigation, transparent fee collection, reliable online access, and simplified NID procedures .

paid the NID name correction bribery for my mother-in-law's NID due to urgent passport renewal. The officer initially demanded 12000 BDT, then after realizing urgency he demanded 3000 BDT more and threatened by saying "if you even go official or unofficial procedure in any other way, it will go through me and I will see how it can be approved." eventually forced to pay in total of 15000 BDT and corrected the NID just within 1 hour after that.
