On my flight from Dhaka to Toronto on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines tonight, an officer at the check-in counter asked for USD 100, not because my check-in bags were overweight, but because my carry-on weighed 6 kg and luggages weighed 42 kg so the total of 48 kg exceeded the limit of 46 kg by 2kg. He insisted on the extra money which was clearly an attempted extortion because there’s usually a weight allowance for carry-ons which he was not considering. I removed some items from the bag and handed it over to another passenger, got my luggages checked in, and then put those back in my carry on 🙄

paid the NID name correction bribery for my mother-in-law's NID due to urgent passport renewal. The officer initially demanded 12000 BDT, then after realizing urgency he demanded 3000 BDT more and threatened by saying "if you even go official or unofficial procedure in any other way, it will go through me and I will see how it can be approved." eventually forced to pay in total of 15000 BDT and corrected the NID just within 1 hour after that.
ব্যাংকের হাউজ লোন পাওয়ার জন্য আবেদন করি। কিন্তু নির্দিষ্ট অংকের টাকা ছাড়া হাউজ লোন করে দেয়া সম্ভব না বলে জানায়।হাউস লোনটি আমার খুবই প্রয়োজন, এজন্য আমি শেষমেষ বাধ্য হয়ে টাকা দিয়েছি।
