In 2021, I visited the NESCO office to increase my residential electricity load from 1 kW to 2 kW for installing an AC. I completed all the required formalities and submitted the requested documents. I was also asked to pay my annual house tax, which I did. Despite completing everything, the work was not processed. Later, an office staff member privately told me that the concerned officer would not approve the application unless I paid Tk 10,000, and said he would arrange everything if I paid. I refused to pay any bribe. Since then, my load has remained at 1 kW, and I have been unable to properly use an AC at home.
