Waited around 5 months after applying. Since I needed them for my master’s abroad. I was in a bit of a hurry. I went there and explained my situation. They said they would look into it. Another month went by and nothing happened. Went there again then i was approached outside secretary office. Paid the “agent of the secretary” the requested amount and the confirmation came within 2 days. I got my papers on the 6th day. I would have waited if I wasn’t in a hurry to send my papers but the good thing is I’m leaving this country.

paid the NID name correction bribery for my mother-in-law's NID due to urgent passport renewal. The officer initially demanded 12000 BDT, then after realizing urgency he demanded 3000 BDT more and threatened by saying "if you even go official or unofficial procedure in any other way, it will go through me and I will see how it can be approved." eventually forced to pay in total of 15000 BDT and corrected the NID just within 1 hour after that.
