During the submission of my passport application, an officer at the passport office demanded a bribe of BDT 1,500 and stated that my application would not be accepted unless I paid the demanded amount. Subsequently, during the police verification process, the police officer responsible for conducting the verification demanded a bribe of BDT 3,000, despite the fact that all of my documents and information were accurate and in order. The officer further threatened that if I did not pay the demanded amount, they would submit a negative verification report, which would result in my passport application being rejected and prevent me from obtaining a passport.
