I was mugged near banasree, and when I reported it to the Rampura Thana located in Banasree, the assigned investigation officer worked on the case. He asked if he should put "full effort" into it. I wasn't sure what he meant, but I told him to do so. It took four to six months to recover the phone. Once it was recovered, he called to deliver it and mentioned that he required abo20% of the phone's value (around 10K–12K BDT) or he wouldn't hand it over. After going back and forth for some time, I had to pay about 10K BDT just to get back the phone that was stolen from me! These people are paid from my tax money, yet I am forced to pay for their service and effectively buy back my own phone.

paid the NID name correction bribery for my mother-in-law's NID due to urgent passport renewal. The officer initially demanded 12000 BDT, then after realizing urgency he demanded 3000 BDT more and threatened by saying "if you even go official or unofficial procedure in any other way, it will go through me and I will see how it can be approved." eventually forced to pay in total of 15000 BDT and corrected the NID just within 1 hour after that.
