There was a simple mistake in the spouse’s name, and I had applied for express delivery. After the application was rejected, I immediately submitted a request to the relevant authority for correction. After three working days, I was informed that it would take additional time to delete the rejected online application from the portal. Meanwhile, a person at the next desk suggested that the mistake could be corrected immediately, but initially asked for Tk. 3,000. After bargaining, the amount was reduced to Tk. 2,000.
I told them I needed the passport as fast as possible since I had a flight to china to catch by the end of the month for a really important study tour. (I applied for express delivery 48 pages, 10 years, 8050 BDT, delivery within 7 working days) They claimed that I have filled many info wrongly and thus I need to apply again for the passport. Means I have to pay the 8K bdt again. They even told me that there are no ways I can correct "the infos I have wrongly written" and the only way is to apply again. I did not pay any extra money till the end. I got my passport by the end of the month after many re-visits and hassles and eventually missed my flight.
They don’t ask me any money as I was smart enough to but on verification, the sub inspector took 500 but he didn’t ask any money.
বৃদ্ধ দাদাকে ভেরিফিকেশনে হয়রানি করার পরে কিছু না পেয়ে গ্রামের নামের কথা বলে নেগেটিভ দিয়েছে। রিওয়ার্ক দেওয়ার পরে দ্বিতীয়বার আবার অন্যজন ভেরিফিকেশন করে বিদ্যুৎ বিল কপি নিয়ে উল্টাপাল্টা বলে অযথা ঝামেলা করেই যাচ্ছিলো। ৩০০০ টাকা নেওয়ার পর তিনি ভেরিফিকেশনে পজেটিভ দিয়েছে।
এসবি পুলিশ ভেরিফিকেশন করতে আসলে উনার অঙ্গ ভঙ্গি এক্সপ্রেশন হাবভাব দেখে বাধ্য হয়ে ৫০০ দিতে হয়েছে চা নাস্তা খেতে।

I went to the Mansurabad Passport Office with the required documents, but I was repeatedly sent from one counter to another and asked for additional documents. I felt I was being deliberately harassed because I had not come through a broker or known contact. Later, I was asked to pay Tk 2,500 to make the process easier. After paying, I immediately received a token. I also observed people allegedly paying Ansar members to get faster service. In my opinion, this experience shows that there is an organized system of corruption and broker-based services at the passport office, involving officials, police, Ansar members, and intermediaries.
পুলিশ সার্টীফিকেটের সাথে পাসপোর্টে নামের আগে মো থাকার জন্য সে ভেরিফাই করবেই না। টাকা ছাড়া সে নড়বেই না। পরে দিতে হয়েছিলো।
last year when i went to renew my passport the system was showing i have two passport active in my name and i was told to surrender both of the passport but i never got two passport and its not possible to have two passport at the same time.then i was told i needed to cancel the other passport so i filed a application but no response for a 6 months then i talked to few people they told me i need to bribe 1lac then i searched i managed to get it for 70k .my application is 80% done ,hope in 30 days my problem will be gone and i will be able to go abroad

I went to the office to make a passport. My mother and I actually filled out the forms ourselves and brought them, but NID verified and still said it was wrong. It was wrong on my part. My mother is a teacher; I mentioned that in her profession. They asked why I mentioned the teacher profession, along with many other unnecessary questions. A little later, I went outside to a computer shop. He took me there, and after going, he demanded 3000 Taka for my and my mother's passport and took our NID to take a photo to send it to someone. And voila, he took the fingerprints for the passport that day, did everything, and there were no mistakes or problems. Even though one of my documents was missing
Regional Passport Office - Dhaka West (Mohammadpur) I had every legal documents but the officer did not accept my paper saying I am missing citizenship certificate which should be collected from the Ward office or something. I have the NID lol. Isn't that enough that I'm a legal citizen of Bangladesh? However some dalal offered solution. Demanded 300p taka but I paid 2000 taka because I know they will never accept my papers even if I had the citizenship certificate. So I had to pay the dalal (bribe agent). After that they accepted my paper and toke photo for the passport. Then I got the passport within 15 days.
Because we had our own house in dhaka, i had to pay 1000 taka for police verification during my passport processing. Those who don't have their own house had to give 500 taka. He told me to send it by bkash if I dont have cash or he might delay my report. So i had to pay it as soon as possible.
I had police verification. The police asked me to come to green line bus counter instead of him coming to my house . He then demanded taka but I refused. We had an argument. My mother eventually intervened and agreed to give him 1k

Wait wait wait.... It is a positive story. We applied for 4 passports, and, got them without any ghush demands. (There was a huge queue, but that's normal in Bangladesh) ---- It was a good thing. And this story should be highlighted too!!! Please make this option available too- where we can say - we didn't need any bribe to get our service. Keep up good work.
Paid the police who verified my address
In 2022, I went through one of the most stressful and frustrating experiences of my life. I had submitted my passport application online, but the passport officials rejected it twice, claiming that they had not received my application. I was eventually forced to pay BDT 2,000 through a travel agency in Moulvibazar, just to get the process moving. It was an extremely difficult and helpless situation that left me deeply frustrated and distressed.
They kept declining application, until a guy approached and asked for 2500tk he can do it. Because of several rejections, we had to pay it and surprisingly, this time the application wasn't rejected. All went smoothly and we went straight to take a photo and fingerprint. Money talks!!!!!
