Police Verification for Job Confirmation

I am currently working in a Govt. owned autonomous power plant. After joining, a police verification process was initiated by the office as required. The officer visited my permanent address at Patuakhali, as only our caretaker lives there he only checked out the house, asked some info and left. Few days later he came to Barishal where my parents live in their owned house (probably found address from info given by caretaker) unannounced. Then he show the village house photos and was talking about family with my father. Although he did not ask for the bribe but he implied he visited here and there with his bike. And my father gave him the money so that the verification process doesn’t hamper.

I went to the Mirpur 10 Land Office to pay the land tax (khajna) for an apartment. After arriving, I was told that a minor correction was needed because the area name was incorrect in the khatian (land record). I was asked to pay BDT 12,000 for making this correction. When I asked whether the application could be submitted online, I was told that the server was down. However, within an hour of paying the money, the application was submitted online.

As expats we require various documents furnished from Bangladesh for various purposes in the country of our residence. To obtain a document in Bangladesh can be a nightmare. For the show we have all these digitized proceses but none of them actually work. I applied for the e apostlization of the marriage certificate of my parents online (didnt work) and then in person (rejected). The document is already notorized and attested by the MOFA. And asks for unnecessary documents like PSC certificate correction which exam doesn't even exist now.
